Nobody made a chip for 3bar before 1996 or so. Every one of them out there evolves from code that first appeared in the original ultimate.

Somewhere along the line, people got it into their head that the "3 Bar MAP sensor" was the magic, but it does no good whatsoever without the proper programming to go along with it. The ECM has to know that a 3 Bar sensor is there.
