Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Started installing the BS3 tonight and came across the white AGS box that bolted onto the bracket for the stock computor.
From what I understand from this thread http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48313&page=2&pp=15&highlight=ags the AGS box is for the speedo and stays in the truck using BS3, right?

This connector is for the future 80E tranny right?

Yes you are correct, the AGS Box must get plugged back in otherwise the speedo will not work!

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Thanks Ralph

Injector swap and some finishing touches of the placement of the BS3 box, after that I hope its starts.

One thought thou...what controlls the lock up solenoid for the TC when running a 700R4 and BS3.
A - F bridging with a manual switch?

If your running a piggy back harness into your stock harness off the BS3 or do you have the full stand alone LS1 Harness like me. Stand Alone Harness you must get a B & M or TCI Lock - Up control in order to do so.

Piggy Back Harness Should do it through the computer like Stock!

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Was troubled on one thing, it says FAST ECU on the installment sheet, line no 9 in the picture.
Would be fun if it was wrong sequence to the injectors...not

Anyone has the BS3 syty harness and installed it as the instructions?

Also, the cable marked up with "ground for injectors"...where the hell does that go?

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Ok realized it was to vague written by me..."Also, the cable marked up with "ground for injectors"...where the hell does that go? " I guess alot of people has been thinking: Dude, just ground it LOL!

The thing is that the harness for the injectors that runs from the BS3 just has 6 cables in it and therefor just comes with 6 pins. The pre-made injectorharness has 7 cables in it, an extra pink/black wire in it and its the ground. So I'm one pin short. Its the same connectors type.

I don't think the ground is controlled by the BS3? Just the + , right?

Easy solution would be cut the pink cable and solder the black "injector ground cable" on and ground it to the block.

Any other ideas?

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Turned the key in the truck today but no startup.

I get no RPM count !?

I got a MSD dist.

I ran the MSD dist with stock ECU without any prob.

The BS3 has the following "dealer" config.

Ignition mode: GM HEI

Mode: SEFI

Ignition drive: Inductive

Crank input select: HED

I hope someone got a easy solution so I can fire up my truck befor x-mas :)

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Update:

I've had been driving the truck for a couple of weeks now.
Still sorting out some issues that I also had before installing the BS3.

I got a question about viewing logged files with the BS3.
When I try to view the logged file [Logging] [View log from file] my laptop say's "out of memory...something something...Not enough memory to run logger"
This also happens on other brand spanking new laptops.
I've read the manual a couple times but can't really figure out how to view the csv files.

I'm not by the truck right now.

Must the laptop be connected to the BS3 when looking at a logged file? The file itself are stored at the laptop.

When I choose the [Replay] menu it, which also uses the ending csv) it doesnt recognize those files (not viewable by in the browser)

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Sorry Andreas, I can't help you here but maybe you can help me.
On the piggy back harness, there is an orange wire all by its self, what is this for?
Ground for setting timing?

Re: Big Stuff 3 users

Hi Denny,

Orange...huh...got to check that when at the garage later today. Cant remember that one right now.

A ohm-meter for checking the pin# at the connectors into the BS3 box and then look at the pages in the end of manual would tell what tha orange is for.

FWIW the tan wire can still be used for setting the 0 degree timing as with the stock ECU
