Bell spring blues.....

What a fusterating day. I ordered new springs, shocks, idler, pitman, and stabalizer. Was thinking I could get this all installed in a long day. Started at 8 ripping apart the back end, removing old springs, blocks, and shocks. I did one side at a time. Go everything installed and for the life of me could not figure out why one tire was much closer to the cladding than the other. Took the wheels back off loosened everything to make sure axel was square, bla bla bla.....put back together.......took back apart....removed driveline to make sure it wasnt binding....Then thought there is not way that the centering pins could be off....SURE ENOUGH GRRRRRR took everything completly out to check. MORAL OF THE STORY : Make sure to check springs side by side before installing. So at this point its 5:10....The Ty is 1/2 in 1/2 out of the gargage. I am on the phone and find a new pair (now paying off the shelf price) thats 1hour away and they close at 6. I was fortunite that they stayed late. Was back on the road by 11pm, with only the back done. What a night.

I'm sure you probably checked this, but the Bell Tech's have a front and rear to them. You need to make sure they are both facing the same way.

Re: Bell spring blues.....

Where did you get springs from?
The springs on the back of my Ty are completely shot. If you load the drivers side, it lays almost 2" lower than the passenger side. I've got Eric's kit on the front but I lowered the back 2 inches and stock worn out leaf springs did NOT like it. When I get some, I will open the box before leaving and check for inspector #32. Nice knowing there is a metally defficient individual assembling leaf springs for us to purchase.
