Re: Bed side R&R.....estimates ?
I know in WA state they can't force you to go to any shop your allowed to go where you want.
Do you plan to fix it yourself or let a shop do it? If a shop is, sometimes it is easier to let them fight the battle.
I am no insurance expert, but I would think you might be able to call and say "I am dropping it off Monday at X shop to get fixed, you figure out between them how to pay and make sure there is a rental car waiting for me Monday when I drop it off. I will await the check for diminished value of my rare and collectable truck when I go back to approve the repairs with my lawyer."
Man insurance companies get my blood going. Here you are minding your own business and some dumbass hits you, now you have to deal with no truck, getting it fixed and the insurance.
Don't even get me started if your house burns down which happened to my mom. They come out right away and issues a check to make you feel good, then 3 days later give you low ball bids to fix it, don't want to pay for shit, etc. Nevermind she was a customer of over 20 yrs.
In the end it worked out for her as she hired a fairly good public insurance adjuster and her offer of ~$150k doubled. he did get a percentage but obviously his 15% of whatever of 300k still left her with more than 150k.
Not sure if they are available for car stuff though.
