Beat by a Mustang,

I was cleaning my ty today when a 89' mustang rolled up. We started talking. He has a bored out 351 windsor engine completly worked. We got to talking and he said when he can connect he runs mid 11's. So I asked him to see if he can connect. We went to some back road and set a finish line. Im running a stock ty with a 10-1 chip and a drop in K&N. Oh and a bigger throttle body. So we line up, me on the wrong side of the road. On three we go...1....2...3... where the fuck is he?!?! He was about 2 or 3 cars back right off the bat and i only had about a 1-2lb launch. I miscalculated the time i needed to boost up. So around his third gear, a little more then half way down he started to catch up and a truck turned onto the street headed for me so i locked up the brakes and got behind him. Score still 0-0. Next run I didnt get a good launch either but still got about a 2 or 3 car lead on him. He caught my about 3/4 way to our finish line and passed me like i was standing still. He beat me by about a car length. I think if i had a better launch i could have made it real close but since i didnt i wont complain. I am running a stock truck like I said and his stang was worked nice. All and all i am not dissappointed but know that I have some things to do before next race:)

So basically, on the street from a redlight, where you never get to run a full 1/4 mile, you would have killed him! That's where the stock Sy/Ty's have always showed their dominance from day one! ::thumbsup::

Yeah, 1/8 would have been a joke. He knew it he was cool about it though. We just kind of wanted to see what each other were capable of. He said when he connects he can fun 11's but im not sure. I lost to him by a car length said my friends so if i got a good launch i might have beaten him in the 1/4:)
