hey im just wondering if anyone has done the conversion to take the large existing battery out and replace it with one of those really small ones so they can take their whole air intake assembly out and just put a cone filter straight off the turbo . i cant seem to find what make of batteries these are let alone find where they sell them but if anyone knows let me know if possible

thanks

A progressive controller would help it not stall?

Yea with the volvo fan wired to run all the time via the ic pump relay like I had it wired it would draw too much amperage at idle so as best as I can describe it.. with the progressive controller it ramps up the power to the fan as temp raises and cooling needs rise. Once you reached the temp you set the controller to it'll just keep the fan turning enough to keep that temp and with the volvo fans you know you don't need it running 100%.. hell when mine was wired up to run 100% power all the time i had problems reaching 160 degrees even though I have a 180 t stat lol.

So far the progressive controller has done what I hoped it would for me

Oh and before the controller I was able to fight the idle stalling a bit better with a half turn of the idle screw to make my idle rpms 650 to 750.. seemed to help some if you want to give that a shot it'll only take a few seconds

I dont drive the truck now because everytime i do, it stalls and then it wont start again and i need a jumpstart. Sucks. Volvo fans and PC680... not good for me.

well I really wanted the dc controller which has tons of options and is fully progressive but it's expensive and the owner changed the site around until he can get caught up with all the orders he currently has. http://www.dccontrol.com/

If you do a search you'll see some info on this controller.. but since I didn't want to wait a few weeks I bought the Spal PWM which is there progressive controller.. i've only been able to drive my truck a few days after I installed it but it seemed to be the cure for my volvo fan and odessey battery. Here's a link to one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Spal...ryZ33603QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Not saying this is a 100% cure.. but it worked for me. Your case maybe the fact that your running the volvo fan 100 percent and all the time plus may have a current draw somewhere else like the radio etc that could be sucking the little reserve the battery has dry.
