i would be very interested in how to do this, especially if it can be done to look very clean with the oem console!

ed

thats what im shooting for.
it is gonna be taller, is gonna require bm top cover over oem.
i dont wanna raise the console that high to avoid it, i dont think -
but i cant go further till i figger out backup wiring, which i havent even looked at.
test drive in a few minutes on way to work.
hopefully ill get there.

pg 47 in the syty service manual, its also on the cd.

by page 47 i am referring to the wiring schematics contained at the end of the manual or in the diagrams section on the cd.

hmm

you can pm me tomorrow and i can retype the colors and funtions.

or just take your meter and test the wires in and out of park and neutral and then reverse.

IF you set your meter to continuity settings and then voltage settings you can then determine the pairs and the inputs and outputs without using any schematics.

pm me tomorrow to remind me and i can just retype the pairs for you. but you will still need to use your meter to tell which is the input vz the output.

bet yet

just call me tomorrow at work 856-546-8439
and i can read them to you.

I have the b&m hammer shifter in my truck i can get you the color for the wires tomorrow if you dont get them by time I can post. All I need is new shifter boot and it is done, kept the stock look except for the shifter of course.

i got neutral figured out - cake.
it's just reverse lioghts i'd like colors for.
i can meter it all out - not hard, but nice to know whats up going in.
turboz - got a pic?
i'd like to see how you did the cosmetics/console area.
i took the plate and very top section of the b&m console (sawed it real short) and am gluing to oem console/cupholder plate.
then gonna paint oem gray color as assembly.

when you get some pics up. you can e-mail them to me. i was thinking of putting in the b&m hammer shifter, but i dont want to cut up the top cover on the center counsel like i had to with my GTA trans am. does anybody out here have a spare upper cover they want to sell. just in case i have to chop up the factory one.

ed, yes, please, for the b/u lites.
i am also putting in a 3 way switch to control the tcc - locked, unlocked, ecu controlled.
gotta tune the racecar before sunday's event, so it oughta be all finished by sunday nite

unlocked and ecu controlled are on in the same, unless you are trying to make it so it cant be locked up!

send me you fax no and i will copy the page to you.

ed

no, i want total control - this switch will either:
1 - lock the tcc
2 - prevent the tcc form locking at all
3 - let the ecm do it like stock

1 relay will just jump the 2 aldl terminals together to lock.
2nd will break output of tcc wire from ecu via normally closed relay

could u just give me the 3 colors i need to know rather then fax it?
my fax has very low res and wont turn out usefully.

transmission neutral sense switch
(closed in park or neutral)
black/whte - open side
orange/black - hot or ground side

backup lamp switch
(closed in reverse)
dark blue - open side
light green - hot or ground side

neutral start switch
(closed in park or neutral)
yellow- open side
purple- hot or ground side

You will have to use your meter to determine if the hot or ground side is a hot or a ground.
