ATR Bigger Liquid Intercooler Box

Is the ATR larger top mount box worth anything at all. I am able to get the box really cheap and I am talking really cheap. Is it worth it to put on a truck with a pte52 turbo? What kind of gains do guys get with the larger the box? Is it really that much better then stock? Ani help would be great guys

yeah its a lot better but not worth the 900 or so.....so if you can get it for less then go for it. but you need to upgrade the rest of the system to make to most use out of it.

Plenty of people are running into the deep 12's on the stock intercooler.

If you really want to go bigger, get an air/air IC.

but say you could get the box for like 200 buck would you buy? I don't want air to air becuase i don't want to cut up my truck at all?

Air to Air does not consist of cutting your truck up i didnt have to with my KB unit

is anybody running any fast time with this box cooling there turbo? Will it work okay to cool the air from the PTE52?

Is this the only intercooler mod you are planning on doing? If I were you, I would also get the aux cooler and a big Shur-Flo pump. I am doing the ATR tank, ATR Aux Cooler, DeQuick CCHE, and a Hartman Trans cooler. I should have alot lower temps. I am having a different cap welded on my tank so the filler neck will be slightly higher than the rest so I would get all the air in the system. It is costing me arond $30.00 to do so. I am also going to stainless hoses. Go for it.

I had one of those with a 60-1, ported stock heads, cam, bigger pump & heat exchanger. Ran 12.06 @ 112.8 mph on pump gas at 18psi with fairly aggressive timing. But, the same IC on a stock truck didn't make any noticable improvement. From that experience, it seems like those bigger ICs work best with additional mods & bigger turbos.

Don't expect lower temps from the DeQuick CCHE. There are plenty of people who have tried it and no success stories. (I am one of them.) The unit is very vulnerable to road damage besides.
