ASC sunroof intermittent problem

I have a 92 TY with the ASC sunroof option. It has three switches between the sunvisors. I am assuming this is the factory(add-on) roof. I have had some problems lately. The roof motor continues to run when the roof opens all the way up. I have to hit the close switch to make it stop whinning.

Also, intermittently I have found that the close switch won't work unless you push it over and over again.

BTW, what does the ASC switch do? I can't find any difference when I use that switch.

well first of all, im surprised nobody else has said anything, but sunroof was not an option. im am still trying to uncover the truth behind dealer installed options, so I might contact you later for some information on ur truck.

second, i dont know why you have 3 switches. I only have 2, and other Tys with moonroofs only have 2 from what I have seen.

anyway, the problem sounds like a relay thats sticking, or whatever switch or sensor that shuts off power to the motor when its open is not working. Im not too familiar with it myself, but I would suggest whipping out the yellow pages and finding someone local who does aftermarket sunroof installs. they will probably provide you with the best information and solution to your problems. goodluck.

Damn, you know, I never really looked at the window sticker before, but the roof isn't on it anywhere. So, yes its a dealer option. Hellova nice job and unit though. ASC is located in Bowling Green Ky, about 4 hours from here, so I guess If I can't find anything out locally, I'll try them.

BTW, I considered the relay myself, but hate the thought of pulling down the headliner to make sure. Oh, well I guess I'll have to do it sometime.
