Arrg... now overboost?

Okay, if you've read my posts before, I've been having problems with poor boost and slow spooling. I've been tweaking everything and I'm finally getting reliable boost, still a slow spool, but it has gotten better. Now the bad news, I'm finally getting full-boost and once I hit top boost, I get a quick jolt of power and wheeze - then the turbo is fluttery until I let off.

Is this a symptom of overboost? If so, I think I can tweak it backwards a bit, but if it isn't... what the heck is it? I've been finding many little things that have been making vast improvements to performance, I'm almost thinking I didn't replace something correctly.

Of course, it's running 100 times better now than it did when I first got it. I can't help but wonder if I should wait and put in an external wg, upgrade the turbo(nothing big, but the next step up from stock) and get it chipped... that'll fix it.

Re: Arrg... now overboost?

do you have an aftermarket gauge?
if you tried adjusting the wastegate rod, you might hit the boost limiter..
gauge the stock gauge is crap

Stock POS guage... I know I can't rely on it... all it is good for is it moves if the turbo is working.

And yes I've adjusted the rod several times to get it right. It's slightly out further than recommended, but no more than a turn or two.
