It was a Cobra...had the bubble fog light front-end, all the emblems, insignias and crap. Check out the date of the posting...it was a few weeks before Homecoming weekend. Since that time I have posted a number of faster passes. Hell, the passes at HC were mostly me hot-lapping the Ty. By the end of each pass my IAT's were over 230* as evidenced by a few people looking over my shoulder. When I wrote about my run-in with the ZR1 on the highway, most did not believe me. That's OK - my truck does NOT fall on its face as the MPH climbs...I keep pulling all the way through redline (also something you can see from the pics of my 'official' dyno runs which I have posted')
I have been running in the 10's all year already, evident by the videos I have thrown up. I have some where I run 1/8th-mile passes then shut down (hit the brakes) and still run in the 11's. The truck as it sits is making enough power to tickle the 9's (I had two runs datalogged that prove it), but I was not able to hit that number. The plans for the winter are a freshen-up, a little work on the suspension, converter, injectors, and some safety equipment so I won't get thrown out every time I try to make a fast pass.
To the OP: I hope you get your rights to post over there soon! I look forward to reading your accounts on their forum!
This is not saying that syty's are unbeatable..there are some stupid-fast cars out there that can flat-out haul ass! But we do have a pretty mean vehicle for the stoplight warrior!
