Holset is the Co. that makes the turbos for all the Dodge diesel enignes...in particular they use a hx-35 on the 5.9l straight 6. Seeing that gas engines produce more volume of exhaust than a diesel does...would that turbo work well on a 4.3? I cannot find a compressor map so I cant tell cfms, at psi and what not.

Anyone?

Compressor maps for Holsets are apparently closely guarded company secrets. Many people have looked, asked, and such, and there just isn't much available. I doubt highly that you'll find the same type of map that you'd find for a T series turbo.

I think I have some info on my PC at work. It may include a rudimentary compressor map in it. It won't have efficiencies, and may take some work to convert the units into something useful. I'll look tomorrow and post up then.

Most of the diesel units are set up for a fair bit of boost. I think the factory wastegate settings on the HX-35s are something around 19 to 25 psi, depending upon year & model (HO's get more boost). Also look out for the HY-35 which is used on certain trucks (I think its certain automatic equipped years). It doesn't have the parts interchange of the HX series and doesn't flow as well.
