I suggest you search for Carfax, see who's provided them for people, and ask nicely. I was lucky enough to have a member do it for me without being asked.

Man the Ty that was built before mine. Maybe no big deal but, I've always wondered about what color it was and if it was living. And would like to see 1636.

Have you contacted the seller? He would probably know more than anyone here at this point.

Sportsmachines has it listed, but not much help other than the fact that it appears the color scheme was Midnight Black/Argent Gray, and the pic in the ad looks Black/Black to me.

But it is a pretty poor picture for a For Sale ad IMO.

Contact the seller and see what all he/she can tell you. I was able to contact three owners back on my Ty to ask questions on it's history, but a CarFax would tell you the most important stuff, and if $20 (for CarFax) isn't worth it to you, then maybe you shouldn't be looking at SyTy's

In me buying my Ty I did a carfax and I say for 20 bucks I got nothing. It showed no accidents with my Ty. After working in the body shop field for 5 years I can see things other people don't. My Ty had actually been wrecked and left fender ,hood, grill, and front bumper replaced and bumper frame mounts cut off and replacements put on. My S-15 showed nothing and had actually been in a flood.
With buying a used vehicle you just never REALLY know all the truth. IMO

Since I am a total reject at trying to guess VIN's on these things, can someone help me out...


As far as what a carfax says, sometimes they are on sometimes they are off. Wrecks are not always going to show, espically if a claim wasn't filed. Typically I pay more attention to dates, if I see 2 or 3 ownership changes in a short period of time, that makes me look harder for damage. There all just all sorts of little indicators that I look for....
