Any Valve Body Experts here?

Had to get a different valve body today cause the one I had in my spare trans somehow rusted to shit. Anyway, Im having a few problems, in one of the valves its a big solid aluminum plug with somekind of valve behing it. The old valve body had a valve in a big aluminum seat with a spring and a valve behind it. Im not sure what the hells going on. There were slight differences in some of the vlaves elsewhere but were just casting differences it looked like. Also, I cant remember which one it was but I think its the TV Valve, the old one was two cylinders, 3 smaller valves and one spring with a very thin spring in the bottom. My new is a one piece cylinder and one spring, a longer valve inside and still uses the thin spring at the bottom. Any ideas here at all? Im not sure if I should even run this now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Any Valve Body Experts here?

just a word of warning the valve bodies are SyTy specific.

If you are just pulling any old 700r4 valve body they are not the same.

My suggestion if you are digging into them is to get the ASTG manuals with all of the applicable diagrams.
I had some of them uploaded to northeastsyty.com and we all know what happened to them...

Is there noone here who really knows these valve bodies? Any reference points? Spring settings? Anything?

The gallery that had the pics you want is down.

The plug is the TCC lockup. With a syty it should either be plugged or nothing there. If there is a valve with springs, it will not behave correctly in your syty. syty TCC is controlled by ecm. That's why it is eliminated or plugged.

Interesting, I couldve sworn mine and Abes had valves with springs. I think Ill post up pics of what I have, would you be willing to tell me if I have what I need here?

Yeah. Put it up with the layouts next to where they came from and I'll take your pics and show you what to do.
