hatrik8 said:Will an optima fit in the stock location? It was a pain to get my battery out this past weekend, I had to twist and turn to get it around the stiff coolant line that goes from the a/c (i think?) I dunno if I can squeeze a different battery in there. Anybody know?
crashing_sux said:FWIW, I have the KB kit with an optima. It fits. It is a pain to get to, but I don't have to get to it often. I have a moroso quick disconnect switch hidden inside the firewall which I flip when I want it disconnected and the one time I had to charge it I did it through a set of positive/negative terminals I have mounted to the firewall going back to the battery.
Jer said:I can't speak for the 'kit' itself but if I relocate my battery to the back (which I plan to do) I'll probably use my own parts and will probably put it inside the rear cargo area since I have an Optima.

Jer said:Can you post up a picture of how you did the terminals on the firewall?
crashing_sux said:The engine bay is a mess of wires right now as I have the engine out and the suspension removed (getting ready to throw the RPM kit in) but this should give you the idea.
Jer said:Mine fit just fine in the stock location but my engine bay is far from stock so I'm not sure where the coolant line you speak of runs and how it would affect it.

Syclone#1992 said:ATR kit has a couple flaws, 1.) the battery can short out easily because the terminals are ungodly close to the front frame and bumper. I tried reversing the batter so I didn't have to worry about this, but then the tire rubs, so it has to go back around and I have to put rubber on the end of the terminals to be sure they don't short out.
crashing_sux said:Oh yeah, it's located on the passengers side of the engine bay. The aluminum plate it's on is the KB cold air intake plate, I don't use the rest of the cold air intake though.
