I just pulled mine out yesterday for the first time in who knows when.... had 2 flat tires, 1 dead battery and vines growing up through the grill and in the engine compartment, haha

Here's what mine looked like two weeks before the '02 NATS:

I tip my hat to you folks that DRIVE your trucks to the NATS and RACE them... Since I no longer have access to a tow vehicle and sold my trailer to myclone, my truck will NEVER make it to the NATS if I attend :( . I find it ironic that I sold my trailer to the person who confirmed my fears about driving my truck to the NATS when I attended my fist one...

Weird stuff huh... My delusions of grandure were to drive my truck to the nats every time. After the first one no thanks...being stuck 1200 miles from home in podunk KS is something Id rather not repeat....ever.

BTW, you do know I put a wireless remote on the winch/tilt function of the trailer right? Freaks ppl out when the trailer starts to tilt for no obvious reason (I hide the remote in my hand). Podunks around here freak out and swear its the devils work

Heh, yeah you told me about it and how you had a little "accident" with the remote in your pocket. All I'm saying is a button got pushed and some breakage occured  .

Actually, I just got mine back together...
But there's no way it's making it to Nats.

Mine is in more pieces.

I am considering just bringing it in parts on the trailer and wrenching all night Thursday night in the parking lot at the hotel.
We'll see what I can get done over Labor Day.

Can't wait to see you all at Nats.

Here is an update from last night.

*hint: some of the stuff in that pic is just "sitting there"

The pile of parts strewn about the floor and to my back as I took this pic is a bit intimidating so I didn't bother.

I call this piece - ty bomb.

How many days is it to Nats?

Looks like you made some progress since I was there. Keep up the work, I'm sure you'll make it in time.

PS...what did you need when you called? Leave me a message next time

That same question I posted about the stud length and a safe way to get more threads for the polylocks to grab onto.

It was getting late and I was standing there with a wrench in one hand and my greasy cell phone in the other.

I don't think I'll have a problem getting it back into one piece for Nats.

I seem to remember pretty much assembling my truck on and off the trailer a few short years ago....AT NATS. I had just finished the vortec conversion and had to replace front body panels intercooler, accessories, etc, etc. I dont recommend that though Engine only made it about 800 more miles before aeration of the crank case via #6 piston.
