Does anyone got any cool coloring under the hood, instead of the old fashioned black type, or is it too much ricer over that issue??

Morgan - I was actually talking about that at the last Chitown gathering. I can't see using any other color. It'd be very easy to spot an oil leak.

I have an upper and lower intake and intercooler that has been painted white.
I Also have a lower intake that is painted red. Anyone want to trade?
My favorite parts off this truck are the red sparkle painted fuel rails and
the black sparkle painted valve covers..

I think it's back to black for me!!!! If I get a chance I will post some pics tonight...

oil shmoil

im not too worried about it actually. Im gonna be using a marine grade 3 step epoxy engine paint. Should be pretty smooth and nonporous so cleaning and maintaining it shouldnt be too difficult. We'll find out come summer time :)

I do like red and white and black as shown below but I'm not so sure it looks good on the engine.

I had a blast getting the motor painted and polishing up all the aluminum.

edelbrock polished water pump and polished 3 pc timing cover

looked great on the stand and real photogenic.... but the problem with all that is by the time you get it back into the truck you realize that half the stuff you cant even see anymore! bummer huh!

100% of that stuff would be so corroded right now if you parked it at my house

No just the intakes... and you are right it looked horrible. But if you
look closely at the first picture with the sparkle red fuel rail you can
see what killed the engine, since then I put my other intakes and
intercooler on the engine. It should be back on the road this weekend
after a complete rebuild... BTW what is the best way to strip that paint off
and keep shit out of the intercooler, paint stripper or media blasting?

to ensure that you keep stuff out of the intakes and IC, I would attempt to use some aircraft first and see how that does. If that doesnt work, i would move onto blasting. I would stuff some rags in the openings followed by some pastic caps on the water inlets/outlets and probably tape the larger openings up. If there is paint all the way out to the edge where the hoses go on, I would attempt to remove that with a wire wheel. Once done, flush it out with clean water and an air nozzle. Thats just how I would do it :)
