Re: Any Chips for the new 60 # Hi Imp Injectors ?

Anybody that can write a chip for the stock ECM and the new 60 # High impedance injectors ? Modded to the hilt.
It seems people are always concerned about using xx lb/hr injector on a stock ECM. The cam, heads, turbo, etc all play as much a role in the calibration as the injector selection. A 50# calibration for one truck will be just as wrong for another truck as a 30# injector calibration for that same truck. Lynn, if anyone had a cal for 60's, it'd have to be for those exact injectors, with nearly the exact components as your truck, for it to be even close. This is why I had to specify all of these factors for my calibrations.
As far as recommending megasquirt... I'm not sure why you are even mentioning it in the conversation. Lynn asked for a chip calibration. You might as well go try and sell kit cars to people who are shopping for a new car at a car dealership. Doing chips on the stock Syty ECM is proven and can work....has anyone used megasquirt on a syty ? Not that it can't work, but you'd really recommend such a system to a person who hasn't even considered tuning his own vehicle or burning his own chips? It sounds great and all, but every syty owner has the means to a very powerful ECU (the stock one !), and few take advantage of it.
Looking at some more of the Megasquirt (I'm sure this belongs in another thread

), it does look very cool, but also seems that it is early in its development. Not that it doesn't function, but that there may be bugs to be worked out, and that it will be simpler & easier to use in a year or two. It appears that it requires hunting through the code & recompiling for simple changes, which would take seconds to do in other systems with realtime calibration editing. This is *not* user friendly for the typical wrench.
