Another gauge install question

I just received Auto Meter mechanical gauges (boost, tranny temp, and water temp)) and have a few questions. The boost and tranny are not a problem but where should I connect the sending unit on the water gauge? I've been told that there is a water neck for the SB Chevy that has an inlet for the sending unit. Has anyone seen this and will it fit the Ty moter? What's been used to mount mechanical units? I have tried the search but couldn't find much.
Thanks,

IMHO, there is no such inlet on our engines. If you are completely stock, I can't see any other method than drill and tap the lower intake or maybe cut the hose, which goes from the lower intake to the heater core and fabricate a brass piece which could held the sender. You may find an unused plug on the block itself too, but I'm not sure on this one. Will check my spare engine in the evening.

BTW. If you have an GM replacement engine or your TY is from late 93 there is a chance you have L35 heads. In this case you can find a plug on the driver's side between the 3rd and 5th exhaust ports, just above an other water temp sender...
