adjustable ball joints

Re: adjustable ball joints

Just about any part you buy aftermarket is going to say for off road use only, this is due to our society being ready to point blame at everybody else.

Not sure how they are adjustable though just from that description.

Re: adjustable ball joints

Those Qa1 are not adjustable by angle but by preload. They are designed for circle track racing. I don't think they are what you are after.

SPC makes 10 and 20 degree angled ball joint plates. They can be canted in or out for whichever orientation is desired. This would only work upgrading to their uppers. For the lowers if someone wanted to spend a bit of time you could make an angled balljoint spacer/shim for both sides of the control arm. Then when the ball joint is secured it will be on the angle desired. It would take some machining and time but would be a very cheap and effective way of negotiating that 30* of ball joint travel.

*sorry just remembered the lower is a push in. What I was talking about would be suited for a bolt in lower.

Wasn't sure either how they were adjustable. Just trying to think out loud as I prepare to go front coilovers. Maybe the tapered shim is the answer. If only someone here had the 'know-how'...Jim
