Guys I'm pretty sure my AC took a dump last night...smelled burning then it quit.....On the way home from the Cubs/Cardinals game she started to discharge the battery and I had to walk a while.....anyway, does anybody have a AC unit sitting around they want to sell???

should I just go to the local junk yard??

thanks in advance

I did this job last summer. AC compressor was toast. Bought a new one from GMPartsdirect.com. Also got a new accumulator and orifice tube from autozone. It wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. Took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to do. I had lost all my r12 when it "blew". Took her to the Dealer for a leak test and recharge and good as new. Compressor was 225.00 I believe...accumulator was 30.00 and orifice was 6.00. R12 recharge was brutal even at a discount I believe it was 250.00. Be care when removing the orifice tube, I twisted the metal tubing a little and had to twist it back......but that was spooky. Good luck
