ABS Failed 4x

Local shop has replaced my ABS box 2x now. Looks like it just failed again. Has anyone else had a similiar problem? I bought the truck with 45k miles. The original failed at about 90k. In 11k I've had 3 fail. They are Cardone rebuilds.

Also, do you think that I should pay the labor to swap these out? Last time I had to wait 2 months for the shop to get a new one. I'm royaly pissed by now.

Please help. I'm sick of brakes!

i'm assuming your abs light is coming on

make sure the brake fluid is clean, meaning they are flushing the fluid out of the master cylinder and all lines really good. the smallest bit of trash will make a valve stick in the ABS bpmv and cause problems.

also, a bit of info that may not be related to your problem...
when doing a brake job on these trucks, the 'normal' way of pressing the piston back in and sending the fluid back up to the master cylinder is a bad idea with this abs system. junk from the caliper or hose has a bad tendancy to be pushed up in the ABS unit during a brake job if the bleeder screws arent cracked open when pushing the caliper pistons back in. next thing ya know... anti-lock light on

Interesting enough my factory ABS failed the first time after the same guy changed my front pads. It gets better, he first changed my master cylinder. The problem went away for about a week. Then I got the ABS replaced. Then about 6 months later, another failure. Now, about 6 months later, another failure.

How can I check for a "good" ground? I verified that I have a ground. Also, what type of voltage drop should I expect at the ABS vs. the Battery?

In looking at the wiring diagram it says there is a fusible link in this circuit. I'm not to familiar with fusible links. Do they have a slow burn? I ask beucase I'm getting 11.5V @ the ABS unit and the battery is putting out 12+V. I'm pulling a 65 and 66 off of diagnostics. I'm hoping this is the problem. I don't think the cables with links in them are repairable. Is this a replacement only?
