I just wanted to confirm that this is what the lines should look like since they differ somewhat from the previously posted pic.

Thanks,

Yep....that's them Larry.

ALL - I've said this before, but I'll say it again.....you may need to massage these lines to custom fit them to your truck. Since I test fit them on my truck, they may not be a perfect fit on your's. However, the lines are quite flexible, so just gently tweak them and they'll do what you want them to.

I completely re-did mine when I got it a while ago. They were close, but not quite. I found it easier to just straighten it and bend it myself. OH MAN!!!! What a difference. I can now hold 10+ psi as to before where I would roll through my brakes at 4-5psi. Well worth the money

Hood, can you help me out with the line setup?

I see here in this picture you have the rear of the proportioning valve going to the front brakes and vise-versa for the front, correct?

Put when I took all the lines off my master cyclinder someone had already routed the rear to the rear and front to the front. Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't you want it that way because the lines going to the front of the proportioning valve are bigger and the master holds more fluid?

Does it have anything to do with the way the proportioning valve is setup or do you need the bigger reservoir for the rear brakes ( more movement, needing more fluid )?

Any thoughts on my last post Hood?

Ah, just saw that. Not that I am (in any way) qualified to make this comment, but my best guess is that the larger reservoir is used on the rear brakes for the larger line diameter and the amount of fluid required to pressurize the wheel cylinder and extend the "pistons" to full position.

Just remember that brakes operate off of pressure and the larger the line diameter and longer the lines themselves are, the lower the resulting pressure will be. The fronts do most of the work and, in turn, require a smaller line diameter to ensure the level of pressure needed. The prop valve handles the work load distribution, but it's easier to pressurize 3/16" line vs 1/4" line.

I know that doesn't answer your question fully, but it's better than saying "That's the way GM did it."

As I've said before, guys, any future kits will be listed on an "as available" basis and will be first-come-first-served. Just keep an eye out in the FS section.

Thanx Hood, your idea does make sence and it seems to work really well for everyone, so i'll just end up doing it that way, no point in ice skating up hill.
