? about Untimate!

Have the new untimate chip on my sy with a brand new motor, mods are forges pistons, new fuel injectors(stock flow) , comp cam 415, 3 bar map,,question is when I get on it witch isnt very hard yet but I get alot of lag and my boost guage reads about 7lbs...tops.....I did have my turbo acculator off and mabye I dont have it adjusted right...but is that correct on the guage ,,,,feels like I have a lot of lag and detonation......

First off, you aren't looking at the stock boost gauge, are you? It's calibrated for a 2-bar sensor, so it'll never be accurate with a 3-bar. Not like it's very accurate in the stock setup anyway...

Do you have a scantool? You can't properly adjust the truck for the Ultimate without one...

I agree, especially in your situation. Treat your new motor to a cheap laptop and diagnostics software.

I'm looking at the aftermarket boost guage...


What I really want to know is if its possible I turned the stock wastegate too far and thats whats causing the no boost problem....I tried to put it back as close to the stock setting after cleaning it.....

no its not.

with a built motor you should be spooling the hell out of the stock turbo even with no pressure on the wastgate rod.

do you have the heads and cam .bin or are you trying to use a stock injector program in your ultimate? what is your combo, and who sold you the chip? do you have access to datamaster? if not, then your in for a lot of heartache and dissapointment. a scan tool is a minimum requirement. even when you have one, it can be hard to diagnose problems. if you have nothing to go by, you might as well start a bond fire with a bag of 100 dollar bills.

Be careful adjusting the wastegate rod, you go to far and it'll spike on you.


check the vacuum lines going to the solenoid, make sure you didn't plug the vent (port with the metal clip around it)

if you don't have a laptop with datamaster, your taking a huge risk IMO.

todd programmed my chip specific for my setup and the turbo is not spooling much at all, getting a little , but when my boost guage gets to 0.00 I have serious detonation and missing.....

going to take out chip and 3 bar to see if its in there somewhere .....

mabye have a bad plug or wire....every once in a while it spools like crazy but not very often....

I had that same prob, a local sy friend tried helping out with a datamaster and we still couldnt get the thing to work right...... my problems were the same, couldnt boost over 7lbs, if i got to 7 lbs that is, felt like i was driving a bus, eventually got fed up with it, put it back to stock, spools fine.....ultimate is now on the backburner till i can get the patience to try things again, and yes, I did have the 3 bar. lemme know if you figure out whats goin on, maybe ive got the same prob as u do.
