Anyone running an a2a does your intercooler get real hot when you drive it. I have an rpm a2a and was wondering that because when I touch mine its real hot and friends with ls trucks and turbod say that there's never get like that. So just wanted to ask around to see what others do or is there something I have to do to avoid that.

Code what?
Do you have a scoop to draw more air across it? Personally I think that intercooler core is borderline restrictive for our trucks

I have no scoop since I haven't seen no one sale one for those intercoolrs. And are you saying that intercooler is a big no no for these trucks if so I will remove it and just install all the stock stuff back.

I ran around for years without a scoop on mine and unless I was in stop and go or the truck sat for a bit before touching it, then yes it was hot due to little air movement across the core....otherwise, not really.

My piping is also ceramachromed....but I dont think that makes much of a difference.

You need to elaborate. Is yours hot to the touch after driving under normal conditions? Are you popping the hood immediately and checking it (it heat soaks fast above the turbo)? What are you MAT temps as you drive?

I have air to air and the intercooler is cool to the touch after driving @ 110+ degrees, different setup than you. I have a thread on here with some pics of how i did it.

I wouldn't say it's a no no. I ran one for about a year before my trans went. I had no complaints. I just think the core is quit small for bigger turbo's and was never really happy with all the piping, to many turns and to long if you ask me. But the only option really for a truck with A/C.

Your temps should be within 10* from ambient moving along cruising.

Re: a2a temp question

How big is that intercooler core? I have a 3 inch core and its hot on the turbo side and cool on the intake side. 130 deg is high. I can see intake temps at 130 if its 100deg outside. That probably normal. I know it gets dam hot in Texas.
