Re: A2A IC Question

Good Question Air to Air may be lighter how much does one weigh with all of the pipes,Ic,couplers, clamps?? How much does a stock Water to Air set up weigh?? Also how big of an ice chest are you thinking is needed to accomplish colder than ambient fluid flowing through the Inter cooler? If your building a track car/truck it just makes sense to run a water to air intercooler.

R & C,

What kind of Headers and exhaust system you running. Wastegate, Boost control.

Yea agreed "Ice Chest" but i don't know but a few guys who just strictly Drag Race a Syclone or Typhoon. If you are going to do a Drag Truck then its the wrong truck to be modding.

I would surely work with a Lighter set-up. I drove my truck alot and raced it alot. So my air 2 air maintained very good temps even in super hot 80-90 degree nights @ the track sitting in the staging lanes it only reached 90-110 going down the track with no Alky/meth added to bring it down.

Re: A2A IC Question

I agree with winded on the heads.. if they've been ported and done right they will flow darn close to 300cfm on the intake. Very nice heads. I had a set CNC'd. Think of the ports and heads as a sbc "Track1"
design. That's what they are based on. Sounds like a great setup with alot of potential.
If your going to drive on the street a A2A is a good plan
With proper cool downs and 10sec passes at a time there will be little diffrence between a good a2a and a good L2A IC. But on the street the A2A is the way to go. Try and keep all the pipes away from heat sources as they pick up latent heat easily.
Nice truck!

Re: A2A IC Question

Only concern i have is if he is running a .63 exhaust housing on the turbo with that much head flow is creating alot of back pressure, because the turbo can't let that much air flow pass it with a small housing.

I had .85 with my GT35R and i had 40-50 lbs of back pressure and even with porting the turbo housing didn't help.

When the PTE74GTQ was installed the house was the same but the downpipe port was 1" bigger then the GT35R.

So have the right exhuast housing with either hurt or help with good flowing heads.

Re: A2A IC Question

Well guys, I'll get back with some more information on my truck. I have to get ready for my grandfather's veiwing. Has not been a good week. He lost his battle to cancer but it was not a surprise. 2 months ago they gave him a few weeks to live. Have to stay strong for my mom, she is not taking this to well. At least he doesn't have to live in a bed anymore and live in pain everyday. Now he can rest in peace.
