A Few Sy/Ty Questions

(Old Member tryin to get back into the Sy/Ty World)

If an all stock Sy/Ty makes about 260hp on 15psi
would a all stock Sy/Ty make about 350 on 20psi?
(With 3 Bar Map Sensor)

ABOUT How Much HP n 1/4 Mile #s would 93 Ty
with a Full 3" Exhaust from Turbo To Tail, 3 Bar Map,
Turbo Tweak Chip, N a Cold Air Intake.. Gains??

I test drove a Beat Up Lookin White 93 Ty n ran decent
pulled pretty good.. I noticed that when I Did a Boosted
Launch maybe like 1+ PSI when it went into 2nd gear on
the AutoMeter Gauge went to like 17+ psi n the check engine
Light Blinked/Flashed kinda Fast.. What is the reason for that?? (2 Bar Map Sensor??)

Also the AutoMeter A/F Ratio Gauge at Idle stayed on
the left (Lean) side.. Didnt really go side to side..

The Factory Intercooler is all dented up n looks like crap.
(Im on a tight budget) Would a crappy ebay A2A Intercooler
n some Piping be equal to factory cooling or a lil upgrade??

the check engine blinking means KNOCK, most likely because it must have a Velosyty chip.

Any knock retard 5 degrees or more will make the check engine light flash.

Ty ran good, when I saw that I got outta the gas

No Eric has been burning chips for Turbo Buicks for a long time and more recently for the sy/Ty application. I have been nothing but happy with it. Sounds like its running more boost than what it can support. Too much boost for pump gas.

So that chip might only be set up for like 15 psi?

The computer is in the glove box, how do I check to see what chip it has?

His chips are custom burned for the setup, whether its stock or it has upgraded map sensor (2 bar vs 3), turbo, injectors, etc.

My guess would be someone increased the boost by adjusting the waste gate rod or they removed the cat which will lead to over boost (more than 15psi). At anyrate if the check engine flashes you have too much knock. I just got experienced about this so pm me if you want more info.

I don't remember how he labels his chips but disconnect the battery and then remove the chip making sure you don't bend any pins. Take a picture and post it or send it to turbo tweak and he can probably give you the specs

The part where you said you are on a tight budget automatically disqualifies you for even considering buying a Sy/Ty.

Might as well just use the $ you got for toilet paper,as that would be a better use.

I mean, I wont be doin a twin turbo upgrade n coilover swaps anytime soon..

I wouldnt have the $ for the Sy/Ty FMIC kit, but would do a diff cheaper setup

I've discovered that by owning a SyTy, you're automatically eligible for the "More money than brains" club.

It seems like everyone here is assuming that it has a chip in it. If it is beat up looking, and says lean all the time, I would be assuming that the motor is as beat up as the truck. The check engine light will come on for a host of reasons. I wouldn't assume it has a chip, I would assume it doesn't. But thats just me.
