'93 Typhoon no spark 1 hour after run

I've owned this Typhoon since 1999. Starts & runs excellent. Will restart np 15 minutes after a run but if left for say 1 hour there is no spark. Always starts no problem next day. My mechanic has run out of ideas & he is not the kind of guy who just starts replacing everything. There are no mods, everything is 100% factory. Help.

I am guessing the coil is the issue

Replace distributor. Ive seen lots of them with corroded insides and cracked magnets in the pickup coil. I had the same issue and after replacing my ICM and getting stranded again a week later I replaced the distributor and havent had an issue in 2 years.

It's the pick-up coil inside the distributor. Has a green and white wire that plugs into the ignition module. Requires removal and dissassembly of the distributor to replace it. About a $25 part.
