Yup, it's a good possibility you've found the problem. A vacuum leak there can play havoc with the idle. It happened to me. Before long, you might also have a coolant leak, or oil leak. If you keep driving it, keep an eye on the dipstick to make sure there is no coolant in the oil.

Truck is going to sit till I get it fixed. If it has to move I'll trailer it. This has to be the pop issue I'm hearing. I'm changing all the vaccum lines with the kit from sportmachines while I'm in there.

It will be interesting to see if the "pop" goes away when this is fixed. I'm surprised you don't have a water leak there already. It's a short distance from there to the first intake port but the water passage is first. When you get it apart I'd like to see a pic of the gasket.
FWIW although different folks have used different products with success, black RTV is what's called for in the book to seal the "china wall." Be sure to bring (whatever you use) up on heads a bit in each corner.

It's was leaking something but the brake clean cleaned it. I'm having a hard time deciding which gaskets to run for when I have to rip the intake manifold off. I know the factory lower gaskets have been discontinued. I was told lb4 z motor gaskets work or fel pro 1202 works too. Idk which would be better to use for a stock truck.

Your probably right. Tryin to see if the set from rockauto will work. Looks pretty good.

So I did the intake manifold gaskets and still have the missfire. Next move will be to do a compression test, leakdown test and boost leak test. Someone did the job I just did already so I'm wondering if they didn't time it right. It maybe off a little like first suggested. Unless I didn't seal the silicone right. This whole thing has stressed me out. No wonder why it went up for sale.

Does seem like an individual cyl is missing or is it random? Go down to Harbor Freight and get one of those cheap infrared thermometers and check each cly exhaust manifold port. This may help you determine which cyl is misfiring.

If you listen closely to the video in the first post you can hear it pop. But its actually sucking in the everytime it "pops". It doesn't start doing it till it's fully warmed up.

Yup. But I found a intake leak near my throttlebody but can't put my finger where. I'm wondering if I used the right gasket.

So got a lead on the "misfire". Took the truck to my buddies to do some tests. First thing he did was a smoke test. Have a leak coming out of the throttle body and in between the lower and upper intake manifold. Second thing he did was check the fuel pressure since I just recently installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator while I did the intake manifold gaskets. It was about 8 psi too high. We set it to 42psi with the line unplugged. Third thing he did was check timing. This is where we get some light. First he checks base timing with the connector unplugged. What do you know it's off. It was advanced like 6 degress he says. He then sets it to 0 and let's it idle. I noticed it's not missing anymore. Idle is beautiful! He plugs the connector back in and its starts to misfire right away. From his expierence he says that's a sign of a bad distributor. Very common for these gm parts to fail. We are going to replace the coil and distrubtor and check back.
Now I gotta figure out why the job I just did is leaking. I'm thinking I didn't torque the bolts enough or torque them right. I used all new gaskets. Also what should I do about the throttle body? I know they all leak alittle bit but mine seems pretty bad. What are my options?
