Nothing really new my wife had to have a double maysectomy and the last 4 or 5 months have really been focused on her and my two little girls. But her finally surgery is in 9 days hopefully after that I can get back focused on getting the truck done as I now have everything to put it all back together.

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

Well it's been a long time since I've posted here. Been through a lot of stuff with family that has delayed this build. Wife had had three cancer related surgeries and now better days are a head of us. The motor has been up at Golen Racing Engines in New Hampshire and has been done for a while. Finally got a chance to get it home today. Once it was home cut open the bag and started testing stuff for finally assembly and powder coating. I'm unsure what color to do everything but I'm making sure everything fits right before moving on. Had 10hrs worth of driving so will post up more pics tomorrow when I can get the headers on and make sure they fit, the electric water pump and the billet fuel rails.

Also installed the Speed Inc shaft on the transfer case which is now a typhoon case so I can have 32 going in and 32 splines coming out. We have been work very close to have a billet adapter made up to be the same as the 4l80e but for a turbo 400

So I test fit the headers, crossover and HKS 60mm wastegate. Everything exhaust wise can get sent out for ceramic coating.

That's a good question there is a lot to be done. And a lot of gabbing still to go. I'm going to try and get the motor in the truck with in the next two weeks. And then get everything hooked up in the enginr bay. It has to go to the fab guy to finish the intercooler which is already built except for the end tanks and then he is doing a 4 inch dp inside the frame rail. Then we will install trans and converter. The drive shaft and the prop shaft have to be modded for turbo 400. I just want to get it done before the summer is here

Well the motor is in. We found out a lot of stuff just by putting it in. Like my hope of running a 4 inch dp inside the frame is gone now. Guess it's either out the fender or dumper behind front tire. Anyone have any thoughts. Headers are super close the brake fluid reservoir which I'm guessing is going to have to be dealt with. Just lots of little things are interesting to see now.

If you change the hotside setup from what you have, i would definitely change the wastegate placement as well in my opinion..

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

You can run a 4 inch downpipe you just have to notch the firewall/floor and come up with a nice way to fill the cut areas. That's what I did and I am running a 5 inch downpipe back.

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

Guess I never realized I didn't update this thread in so long. Well a lot has changed, once got the motor in we realized the headers were going to be a nightmare to work with. So out came those headers and went a set of RPM raised port headers for the Pontiacs. Along with the we are running RPMs race down pipe, once it guts under the truck it is slash cut and that's where our exhaust will start and end haha.

Had some custom emblems machined out of billet that say 4.5 (size of the motor) XFI (engine management) Turbo. They were pretty neat in my eyes and broke up the under with the colors I was going to powder coat. The engine components all got powder coated gloss black with hints of the Syclone red color as accents.

Worked with John to build the first turbo 400 adapter bc while I would love to have put a 4l80e for the power levels we are looking to make we either need a Jake level 5 or and Rpm level 10 and I just don't have the extra $4500 bucks plus the $1200 billet converter. So we had a Promod turbo400 built with a reverse manual valve body and trans brake and then they built me a billet converter. Saved a ton of money and the trans is good to 2000hp. Maybe one this project has been running for a year I'll look into the 4l80e but for now this will def handle everything we can throw at it. Also am going to be running a JSM tubular cross member

Just installed a PTP lava blanket and also going to try the Turbo Guard acreen. We go in our intercooler which is a 4.5 thick 28 inch long and 12 high, it's actually out getting modified right now to the outlet side will be 4 inch all the way up to the throttle body and also picked up a Tial 60mm bov

More updates to come and we finally will be finish up this build over the next 3-4 months bc I'm shooting to make Carlisle is first maiden voyage

Just a thought on the downpipe. I know you wanted to run a 4" but how about splitting it into (2) 2" and then back into (1) 4" once its past the rail? Just typing out loud :)

When you sell, I expect first option to buy.

If you should die before then, just leave it to me in the will

Beautiful truck....simply beautiful !!!!!!!
