Re: 76 cosworth vega

yes its a complete car.i bought it 2 yrs ago, drove it home.it had been sitting 20 yrs in a garage.it has some small dings from being used as a bench .i pulled the frt clip off , motor out and apart because it sat for so long.i found nothing wrong other than the valves needed shimmed.the 5 speed trans needs rebuilt,it didnt sound real good ,prolly rusted from sitting.i got it for a project but money has gotten tight so it needs a new home.it is a rust free vega which is hard to find.i'll get some pics up.i had a computer die and lost all the pics i had of it.i'll take some and get them posted this week.

Re: 76 cosworth vega

Brings back a few memories this. I sold my 75 CV #1579 before I got the Ty. I always was a sucker for cars that are different and need a lot of TLC.
The guys on the CVOA are great guys, just like many on here and dont have big ego's much like most of you guys reading this. Many of them original owners and very helpful.

Re: 76 cosworth vega

Do you think we have something in common, other than liking 'rare' (low production) high maintenance cars? Funny really there are a few common themes, because the Ty like the CV in the first year of each were available in black only and the second year in various colour options. However in the UK, I only ever met one person who had ever heard of a CV and he was from the USA. One or two over here have heard of a SyTy before, just not seen one.

Re: 76 cosworth vega

I saw you were a former Vega owner. But you said it was not a Cosworth. If it was a CV, then that's four. And all start with a "D".

A Vega 2300 is not a Cosworth Vega. Kind of like a Blazer/Jimmy is not a Typhoon.

do you see a trend with me?

2300 not a cosworth, but i was a member at CVOA (i got the apriciation just not the 4cyl)
ext s10 not a syty, but i am a member at syty.net. (i got the turbo 4.3 just not the awd)
