I don't see the point in it really, it has a 4:1 first gear with an OD that is near identical to the 700r4. I think that first gear would be too much for doing decent boost launches, it would be more difficult to build boost on the line, but also have no traction on a launch. What is nice is that it has a nice gear spread, but for the lower gears to be useful, it would likely need pretty tall axle ratios, which there is little selection in terms of ratios for the front diff and would likely make it struggle in OD. I'm not even sure that it has been used with anything other than late LSx pcm's, it is very complicated electronically, much more so than previous generations.

Even an LSx swap will need a separate tcm. There is no real need for a 6 speed auto in our trucks
