So Im on my way to my Mommys house this mrning to check out a hobby table she wants to give me and about half way there, I see this gorgeous bright red 68 Camaro SS. He had Torque Thrust II's on it and it looked like a full resto. He had Autometer gauges all in the dash, from what I could see, this car was the real deal, not a scratch on it and sounded very intimidating. At the light it was a three lane and unfortunately the two left lanes were taken. I got into the right lane not thinking much more of the Camaro. To my surprise, he gets out of the middle lane while were sitting at the light and starts revvin it up while flashing his head lights. The guy was probably in his mid to early 50's, I figure, he know s exactly what IM driving and he knows exactly what hes doing. So I said **** it and watched the ligths for my spool up. Even though he was behind me he totally started it :lol: So I spooled it up and got a fairly decent 12# launch. I saw hmi take off in the rear view with a couple pinches of smoke at the rears. I had about 8 cars on him and as I approached 70mph, I could see him starting to gain ground on me. If we were side by side he may have had me by that time. But I cant be sure. Either way it was a damn good time, always nice to race the old timers IMO. I asked him what year it wa and he told me 68 whcih I knew just wanted to make sure, then he takes off in a low gear trying to get me to run him from a roll. Just before he turned off he gives me a thumbs up and tells me he loves these trucks. I hope to run into him again and maybe check out the whole car.
