Good luck with them.

Are you using one of Meaney's LS1 harnesses or keeping the distributor?

We are using the system set up for IPU. So if we like we use a crank trigger and cam sensor from a vortec truck. Or we use a Accel dual Sync distributor.
Either or will work.

The LS1 harness will work, but I don't know if people would want to go through all the trouble of rewiring the truck, but it would look nice :)

So its either get the Accel dist which has the crank and cam signal, and use the stock wiring

or

MSD crank trigger and get a cam sensor out of the 96+ vortec trucks.

MSD doesn't make a crank trigger for a 4.3 evenfire. Mallory does.

Will not be using the the stock wiring period.I will be replaceing the stock harness. But the up side is with the Big stuff I will not have a seperate harness for the motor, trans and boost controler. It will all be in one harness, one box and one program to datalog it all.

Re: 4l80e

Great! I can't wait to put the BS3 I've had sitting here for months on my truck.

I'll probably go the same route BigAl did with the LS1 coils, LS1 harness.... but I also like to hear how others are making it work , because its not just a plug and play deal like FAST

Re: 4l80e

I looked on Bigstuff3.com and it was $2600 for Base system with trans control. They had base system+ internal and external datalogging. They had no listing for base system with external datalogging(PC) and trans control. It appears as though you sacrifice one feature for another. I'll probably just go with the TCI unit. :2cents:

Re: 4l80e

has anybody here personally used the BS3 yet? i ran across this review at another forum I lurk on...

" As far as Meaney's stuff goes, I've had the chance to use both the old FAST system, and the new XFI, as well as the new BS-3.

Even though the BS-3 has more "features", it was my experience that most didn't work very well, were not labled in the software accurately, or not explained clearly enough to be used effectively.

The software is a mess and that isn't a system I think that even comes close to comparing to the new XFI, even with its disappointing lack of features that were promised.

I understand that John still has a lot of work to do, and that the potential is there, but the product should not have been released until some of the more basic software functions have been worked out.

In my opinion BS-3 = "Bad Stuff 3"
