Re: 4l80e question

It's not you bro.
There are those that WILL quote your line later and say "George is a dumbass, look what he said to so and so." Basically take what you say out of context and try to use it to prove a negative point about me later. It's getting to the point where I can't say much on here anymore and wouldn't be responding here now except to say, I know you didn't mean anything by it, like I said above. I hate the internet sometimes. It's sad that as much as I've done here and given away, there are still those that say I'm hording info and go out of their way to say I'm spreading incorrect info when I do say something. It's obvious when they do it. Just torques me.
I know what your saying about the "ask your questions here." I should update it when I have time and lay out 80e specific stuff and lock it so it can't get muddled up.

HOLY CRAP! Nice pics!!! That is exactly the setup I'm talking about.

Ok well I'm glad we figured that out. Thanks for explaining that to me.

If you'd like I can compile what I've found so far and put it into a FAQ format and shoot it over to you for fine tuning/mods if that would help?? I have a lot of it written down so far and can put it together this weekend.

Re: 4l80e question

Do some searching on here. The evidence is everwhere that it fits fine and it works.

I think this misconception may come from the posts about having trouble getting the LSX/4L80e swaps to fit. I do recall reading that someone had trouble with it hitting the trans tunnel and the front of the cab due to the height of the motor mounts lifting *everything* up.

I'm going to be able to say for sure soon. I'm ordering Mike Lee's plate this weekend and will be able to get the 80e up in the truck and find out what doesn't fit. I've already taken a hammer to the firewall lip to hopefully get that out of the way.

Did you talk to Sparkwire about the engine mounts and the oil pan? His went in like it came that way.
Here's his gallery. He's really detailed in his explanations for the captions:

Go through the gallery. He modified the transmission crossmember so it set the rear a little lower, but he had removed the rear torsion bar crossmember.

I looked at that link George, most pics are looked at 15-20 times, then the oil pan one is looked at like 230 times. I guess that shows that alot of people are curious as to how tight that pan is. He did a good job on that pan.

Rodger did an amazing job. This was not his first project by no stretch.
