4l80-E trans core

[It's just a six]

Hi all,
I was wondering if I were to get a 4l80-E trans core,, what vehicle would be the best core to get one from?
A turbo diesel 6.5? Non diesel truck?
Are the case housings better/beefyier(sp) on the diesel trucks?
Also does it matter what year trans it is? Did they make a few bad years w/problems/weak parts?

ive got one i want to sell. dont know what its worth. came out of a early 90s 3/4 ton suburban 4x4. not one of the best years but I was told it was very easy and cheap to make it current

Easy. Not cheap. They got half of it right.
$450 to $500 is fair. Over that for a core and they don't know what they're worth.

well $500 i think is much cheaper than a $5k 700 that will break.
