I came across the comp 420 cam in my searches and wondered if I could get some input. Here is how it stacks up against the other more popular off-the-shelf syty cams, falling in between the 415 and 422:
412 415 420 422
duration 206/210 210/215 215/215 215/220
lift .500/.500 .500/.500 .500/.500 .500/.510
LSA 112 112 110 114
I know that a custom cam is the best way to go, but I was hoping to avoid a $400 cam. Like many of the custom grinds I have seen, the 420 does not have a split duration. However, the LSA comes in low at just 110. How do you think this would perform vs. the standby 415 or 422?
My instinct is to go with the 415; I have read both good and bad about the 422. I am running a 3400 stall, PT54, Vortecs, 50s, and will be using the 1.6RRs I have. So the lift numbers will actually be .534 instead of .500. Any thoughts are appreciated, I have been mulling over this for a month now.
