I went out tonight to hopefully catch a race or two since I havent been out in a while. As Im hummin along, a yellow convertable WS6 pulls up beside me. It was me and my wife and in the WS6 were 4 guys, the guys in back looked like htey were 17. ANyway, the driver and passenger tell me nice truck and ask what kind of HP I have. I told him I didnt know as I have never dynoed it. He was quick to tell me he had cam heads and header s and dynoed here in town at 400whp. I took him up to a place we could race a full 1/4 and not get into trouble since its dragnet night. We get to the light and I get the truck ready for launch. Light on the otherside turns yellow so I floor it but when I hit 10psi the truck tries to roll off :rant: So naturally I let off and just held it at 10psi. When the light turned green I still got a pretty good launch, it went real straight thoguh which is unusual. I had about 7 cars on him by the time we got through the intersection and by the time we hit 1/4 he hadnt gained an inch. After the race he came back and wnated to go from a roll but I told him I wasnt really set up for it. I was joking ofcourse, I admitted he would probably kill me from a roll anyway.

Nice! I don't buy his dyno numbers, seems too much without some sort of boost!

I'd believe it. With head/cam combo it is fairly easy to hit 400hp out of a LSX engine.

Stock the LS1's pre-01 came with 345, and the 01+ had 350 (they added the LS6 intake manifold). So 400rwhp is actually pretty low, but that is in Colorado so elevation. 420-450 is the norm for a h/c and supportin mods LS1. Nice kill. I know I'd get ripped outta the hole by a sy/ty, I'd just hope they stay in it long enough for me to catch up, which would take up to about 70ish.

Cam : $300-600
Heads : $1500-4000
Headers : $400-1200
Lying guy you dont know, about shitty 4th gen you obviously know nothing about. : Priceless

Even a cam will put you in the 400rwhp area with an LS1.....add heads and exhaust to it and your looking at around 450+, its been done and proven many a time.

Not at 6000ft. You can easily lose 1/4 of your HP up here. And BTW, the WS6 did not come with 345 or 350, they came with 320. My friend has a bone stock WS6 and trust me, he's done all the homework to prove he can beat me, right up until I totally raped his sorry ass, then his argument was only about the looks of the rides. :lol:

OK.

the LT1s were rated at 285hp. a LT1 WS6 or SS are rated at 305hp.

the LS1s were rated at 310hp. LS1 WS6's and SS were rated at 325hp.

in lated 01, and 02 they put on the LS6 intakes and the WS6 and SS horsepowers jumped to 345hp.

that is what the factory rated. I have seen plenty of bone stock LS1s dyno in the high 290's and even low 300s at the wheels. which calculated would place the flywheel horsepower in the 360~375 range.

but again traction in them sucks compared to the trucks. I had a god awful time getting my WS6 to hook.

Yeah, my Camaro was rated from the factory at 305hp at the flywheel. It dynoed 306rwhp bone frickin stock. That puts my car at a little over 350hp at the flywheel stock. LS1 f bodies have the power, they just don't have the traction. My car went 13.2 @ 108 bone stock. They can move if you can drive. :2cents:

LS1's all dyno around 300rwhp. The only difference is from 01+ they used the LS6 Manifold which picks up about 5-10hp.

negative, its easily possible for a ws6 with those mods to push 400hp mikes ty is just a beast :tup:
