Hello! I got a problem... I bought a Syclone in the summer, and frontwheel drive was "laying" in the passengerside... Now that i have taken on the aksel, i still just have the "drive" on the backwheels... It`s now snow in Norway and i am spinning! Anyone now what the problem can be...? Thanks!

You put the propshaft back in and the front wheels still weren't getting power?

I'd say you have a problem with the front differential or the transfer case then. It's possible that driving without the propshaft wore out the viscous coupler in the transfer case, so it won't turn the propshaft.

Can you get it on a lift and see if the propshaft turns when you accelerate? That would tell you if the problem is before or after the propshaft (transfer case or diff).

general understanding i have of the viscous is that if it goes bad or burns up, it would be akin to having a locked transfer case like in a 4x4. meaning, there would be no slippage in the transfer case.

if the front is not getting power, could be a broken chain in the transfer case.

Thanks for all the tips guys! I know of a 1989 S-10 4,3L 4x4, is it possible that the parts that`s broken on my car can be the same as on the S-10? I know the S-10 can "shift" between 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive with a stick at gearshifter... But is it the same parts that`s under the cars? Thanks!

Now i have put the car on a lift to if see if the aksel went around, and it did... This must mean that the front differential is broken...? Anyone who knows if i can use the differential from the s-10 4,3L 89 model?

The housing is different, but the internals are the same.

you could retro-fit the 89 into your syclone --with work.

Your problem sounds like transfer case related.
