4 bolt main caps

i noticed that quite a few people w/larger buildups are going w/a gm 4 bolt main cap....i was wondering if anyone knows that part # or who i can call to get a set? any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Hey guys, when I ordered my main caps from gmpartsdirect.com a few weeks ago they ended up being on national b/o, so I used the place Nolan suggested (Pro-gram.com). About the same price.

Milodon and I think Manley make 4 Bolt main caps for SB Chevy; 350, 4.3 same mains.
You will need to arrange for the machine work to be done of course. Same 4 bolt cap though. They should be cheaper and I know there better than GM stock. Make sure you only get two not three.

Stuka, the GM ones they are talking about are GMPP and are most likely made by Milodon or Manley

Those are the biggest PITA anyhow as they are not stepped, and some machine shops don't have the capability to do them. I ended up having to take the GM ones back and letting the shop order some stepped ones. Their price was better anyhow, as they get a better rate on some internals.

FYI, GM makes the GM Performance Parts 4 bolt caps. For example part # 14011072
90% of the timing chains are still manufactured by Cloyes

Sure, but give me about 2 weeks turn around. List OE part numbers or a good description of what you want to know. I have to say though, some I’ll have time for, some I won’t.
