Someone already did a midmount turbo on one of these.
Pump gas, china VS racing turbo, 11 psi , 12 deg. timing , bone stock motor, 400whp. He stopped there for the time being cuz the fuel system was already maxed out.

I don't think it's been found beneficial enough to really get anyone interested.

It's a direct injection motor, most basics factors in that are a different piston and the fuel system itself. Not much support yet for any aftermarket ecu to control the DI system, so you'd have to pretty much pull the entire wiring and ecm from a donor truck. That's gonna hunt for the BCM and TCM and probably give you troubles and just generally be a pain in the ass to migrate over.

I saw one where a guy went ahead and changed to a standard port injection system and piston, but that pretty much defeats the purpose of the whole thing, aside from gaining a 6-bolt main aluminum block. With the money spent on the cost to do it you could make quite a bit of power out of the gen1 4.3 architecture.
