3rd to 4th upshift at 100mph

Guys I refuse to beleive it will take replacing the transmission or overhauling it to make my SY change gears at WOT (stock chip and tranny) from 3rd to 4th at 100mph. Please someone tell me what I need to do. I understand that the SY is supposed to shift at 100mph. This may have already been discussed in this forum, but I missed it.

its goiong to be around 100 on a stock truck. or should be. there are things you can do to get that back if yours isnt shifting anymore but usually the WOT upshift into 4th is a good first sign of wear.

Is your tranny stock?
Mine is a one year old factory replacement.(Man I love extended warranties :grin: )
It will not do a WOT 3-4 shift Also the shift quality is not up to syty standards. I can run up to about 105 let off some and it will shift. If I accelerate a little more then I can go full throttle up to needle disappearing speed.

Call Brian Hartman He is putting me together the parts now for this very problem. Now as JWaller suggests if the tranny is worn, still same solution, Call Hartman.

Yeah the Camaro guys are having a different problem than you are having that happens to have the same effects. Your problem has a problem of not getting enough governor pressure to push the 3-4 shift valves into the upshifted position during WOT. It's a delicate balance that can be rigged to work again but most likely it is a sign that your tranny is getting tired. How many miles are on it? Is it the original tranny? you might not even have a SyTy VB in there if it was a warranty replacement or took it to a tranny shop that swapped in a different tranny they had ready for you.
