He would be better off getting a bung welded to it since the diameter of the fitting coupled with the diameter/thickness of the pipe won't give much "bite" on the threads... That's how I did my old setup:
"DIY air intake K&N filter, Bob Galla turbo to IC pipe and HKS SSBOV. Remote trans filter w/trans temp gauge sender is below air filter."
I had to make a new one for my new set up since I expanded the turbo side on the other one to fit the orange elbow:
"3" mill finish aluminum tubing for K&N air filter to turbo intake tube before and after polishing."
