Hey, my 20g has about .050 back to front movement! Is this okay?
There is no contact with the housing, spins nice, no smoke or leaks, boosts good. Only 1,500 miles on it.

Come on guys, what do you think?? Thanks..

Do you have to balance the turbo if you're only replacing bearings , and seals??

You should, but I've known people who get away without doing so.

Make sure you index the bolts and compressor wheel and put it all back to how it was.
USE loctite on the nut and you might be ok, but if its off you will be wishing you spent the extra to get it balanced.

any front to back movement will eat up the mitsu turbine wheel very quickly. fix it now before you end up buying a new turbo. when you get this much movement it not only eats up the turbine but also the bearing housing.

It's just a six

If you mark everything before you dissassble, then reassemble it all exactly the way it came apart, you do not need to rebalance.
