This was my daily driver. I have done alot of maintenance to it and it runs great. I just cant take the two doors anymore. I am killing my back that is already screwed up when i have to put in and take out my two kids. I already have something that i replaced it with and now the explorer is taking up space. I was thinking on keeping it as a mess around and winter truck but i have no room for it. I am asking 3000 but am negotiable. Keep me posted. Below is the ad i had on craigslist a few weeks ago.

2000 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 Automatic with a V6 OHV motor. The exterior color is Green with Tan cloth interior. EVERYTHING works and I mean everything. The A/C is COLD and the heat is HOT. The truck comes with , power steering, power brakes, power windows , power locks, power Drivers seat, power mirror, tilt, cruise control, overhead compass with temp, AM/FM stereo with CD player, dual airbags, roof rack, ABS and of course Four wheel drive. I have a folder full of maintenance records that came with the truck when I bought it. Mostly all the documents of maintenance that are in the folder were from a ford dealership which is probably why this truck drives and operates so perfectly. I have a mechanic background so just about everything that has been replaced since I have owned it has been done by me so I know it was done correctly.

The paint shines like new except for a few minor door dings and minor scratches from parking at the train station. The truck has never seen a body shop it has all original paint. The running boards have minor rust. I painted them one time and they look okay but not great. That is the only bad thing about the appearance of the truck.

The truck has 116,500 miles and the Engine does not have any leaks and automatic transmission shifts perfectly. The truck has tinted windows, upgraded clear head lights (the original ones will come with the truck), Bright white head light bulbs, Chrome 16 inch wheels with less then a year old Good Year Wrangler tires, remote keyless entry with remote start, I also have two new transponder keys that are still uncut that are also included.

Here is a list of things that I just did within the last three months and also a few items that I added.

  • Brakes: I went with the cross drilled/slotted rotors front and back with Hawk pads. I also replaced the emergency pads and all the hardware. I have not adjusted the emergency brake yet but WOW do the brakes work great and they also look great through the perfect shinny chrome factory rims.

  • Thermostat with a full radiator flush.

  • Upper and lower intake gaskets. These are common problems for the 4.0 OHV motors. They cause a vacuum leak that make the truck run like crap.

  • FULL Tune-up – Plugs, Motorcraft spark plug wires, and gas filter.

  • K&N Drop in filter.

  • Full Rubber all season mats

  • Rear cargo Mat. Bought off EBay for 75 dollars. Works pretty well.

  • Trailer Hitch. This is not the ordinary UGLY hitch. It is the Hidden hitch that is not a sour thumb when you look at it from the rear.

  • New Monroe shocks.

  • Front differential/ Rear Differential and transfer case had fluid change to AMSOIL.

  • Wrap around Hood Front Bug guard.

  • Window plastic wind visors. They are cracked a little at the bottom but they work fine but you can see they are cracked. If this is an issue I will take them off and throw them out if it really matters.

  • Oil change every three thousand miles with Mobil 1 FULL synthetic 5/30. Yes I know using full synthetic does not need to be changed every three thousand miles. <LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in">Passenger side HUB Bearing.
  • Brand new Die Hard Sears Battery with a year and half warranty. I have receipt. Replaced three weeks ago.

I use this truck everyday no matter of the weather or where I’m going. I drove to P.A about 10 times in the last two months for work. As you can tell I trust it a lot. I do clean out the K&N filter about every other week when I check the oil and other fluids. At the same time I clean the MAF sensor with the specific MAF sensor spray cleaner. I run Seafoam through the gas tank about once a month. I also run it through the brake booster right before I change the oil. The truck is not bad on gas either. I guess because I keep on top of the maintenance it actually does show results.

Before you say to yourself well why are you getting rid of it if it is a great truck? The reason is because I have two kids that need car seats and with a TWO door it makes it hard for me and my back which is not doing so well to get them in and out.

Price is NEG!!!
