nope, it's a Prototype 1991 Syclone, http://www.sportmachines.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Prototype+Concept+Syclone that was at one time converted to 1992 specs. And this isn't a full list of all the Prototypes and what they were used for.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice truck. Especially for the 5k you paid for it.

So let me get this right.....you post 165 times (including this posted quote) and refute all the PAS documentation I have, the title I have in my safe, the information on the Sportsmachine site and the guys on here that are buff historians and have documentation we have never been privileged to lay eyes on and that qualifies you to be right??? Well, I needed a laugh before I went golfing and you gave it to me :tup:.

Oh, and since the forged crankshaft alone in the truck cost $3,800 (for which I have a receipt), Ross custom spec racing pistons ($880) authenic, like new vette GS 9.5" and 11" wheels ($1,000 easy) and a SPa guage display that totals right near $950, I would agree with you on one thing; it was well worth the price I paid to include the $1,400 shipping charge, 9.5% tax required, and state registration fee. The angels were smiling on me the day I bought this truck!

3 trucks were built 2 are know to exist unless you count the challange trucks

ones here in Michigan, the one you have was here also i looked at it when it was in farmington but it went to california shortly after

If Waller's counts, T-Bone's truck, and one in Mich (GM ownership?)... that makes 3 known to exist. (Excluding the Challenge trucks, which weren't '92 VINs)

Or by 'exist', you mean 'not wrecked'? (Ie, the crash-test dummy)

You guys that actually have the '92s, are they VIN'd as '92? As Syclone VINs?

There are some on here already so I will try to post a link. Yes, I have the original non-scripted upper intake (more proof it IS a 92 prototype) that came on the truck and it is tucked away safely . A regular SyTy upper intake is on the truck in its place.

Does anybody know why they pulled production of Syclones in 1992 but still made Typhoons for 92 and 93? It sounds like thye were going to make a bunch of Syclones in 92 and never did, just wondering why?

I would guess it was because they were not marketed correctly and they didn't sell as quickly nor in line with the volume that GM anticipated in 1991. Some were still on the showroom floor in 1993??? Not to mention $26K was a chunk back then for a small pick-up that primarily was good at the same thing it is still good for.....smoking beef on the street between lights.

GMC had a back log of Syclone's in inventory. Many of the 91 sold during the 92 model year. If you were to look at the 92 Sportmachine brochure you will notice the Syclone was not available in black/black for 92, this is probably becuase their were so many 91 left over..
