Re: 1970 Challenger R/T 340, HEMI orange/white vinyl

Shouldn't it have a 727 instead of a 904?

I believe the small blocks could have either trans depending on the bell housing.

Just doing some thinking, is this a factory 340 car? from what I recall rt were 383 standard this should be a a66/a40 package car basically a RT with out the insurance hike

the square option tag is a "trim tag" got a photo of it? That would answer alot of questions

Well, yes, you could get a 904 on a 6 cyl or small block. 727 was small block or big block. You would not find a 904 (originally) on a 340 or an R/T.

I thought that is the way all 340 cars are. A 727 trans manditory, no other options for an auto.

I had a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger w/a Scat Pack package. 340 727 buckets A/C hood scoops. 8 3/4

A 904 trans w/a 340 is like having a 340 w/one of those weak rear axles 7 1/4, or 7.5 10 bolt IIRC? That would be a fake 340 car.

I should have keeped it.
