1965 GMC pickup - Central FL

1965 Longbed

Orig 305E V6, 4 spd

Project truck, runs and drives, needs body work.

I threw in a better condition gauge cluster from another 65 due to the orig one in the truck had busted gauges. I will include the old one I removed with sale. Also put on new brakes in the rear (pads, springs and wheel cylinders) and have all the brake stuff for the front I'll also throw in. Also have an extra grille with light damage (fixable) included.

Good for parts or a low budget beater that gets decent mpg. I got this truck off Gary Shanock with plans to slam it and throw sparks all over the highway. Possible move and no place to store it forces me to dump it. Id like to see it gone in the next 1-2 weeks if possible.

I do have the title.

Located in Deltona, FL 32725 (Just outside of Daytona)

Make me an offer.

he will drive it back.

I drove it from Miami to Orlando. It was the scariest 4 hours in a vehicle Ive ever been in. I got it up to 70mph. I probably wouldnt do it again looking back. You can gauge your speed by looking at the holes under your feet in the floorboard and the drum brakes are a secondary device for stopping... it took downshifting to torque brake that thing to a stop

What! no abs?

I'm out.

yeah guys... no AC either....but you do have vents that'll blow dirt and rust all over you while driving. and if you want music, hope you have a good singing voice. Its got a radio from like the 70s, but im sure it and whats left of the speakers are toast.

It runs good though.. needs a tuneup, but it pulls like a MoFo. 1st gear is nothing but a granny gear tree stump yanker. Ive always wanted to stomp on it and see if I could do a burnout, but scared Id twist the axle out and have it come flying at my head through the bed.

Ha! I appreciate his "honesty." Heck, if I had the room and money, I'd pick this one up too...I love these old trucks! Would look nice next to Jeff's Dad's Plymouth. I need a BIG garage. Collecting stamps would be so much easier.:rotf:

I said from the very beginning... project truck  I dont have anything to hide. Its rusted and needs alot of work to be a decent truck. I shouldnt have driven it in the first place from Miami on shot tires and bad brakes. Doing 65-70mph in a big truck that doesnt have power steering and has the handling capabilities of a school bus is scary :screwy: My plans were never to make it a really nice truck or dump tons of money into cosmetics. I wanted to lower it and use it as a ghetto fabulous daily beater fun truck.

I dunno about looking nice.... its kinda an eyesore to anyone who doesnt appreciate cars. But then again, I sorta like stuff that pisses off the neighbors.

Oh...

As far as the history, all I know is:

Owned by a friend of mine and Gary's, Rob Sousa who bought it off some dude.
Gary got it off Rob....I got it off Gary.

The remaining 42 years I have no idea. ;)

yah man...im not really wanting to sell it, but if we move Im not dragging it around with me and realisticly I have my hands full with just the sy and getting it back to running and tuned up. Plus, it does take up alot of room in the garage that I need for the business.

keep me updated if you hear anything...
