16" GTA wheels

So I picked up a cheap set of GTA wheels a few weeks ago off of craigslist. I don't really have a "need" for them, but ive always liked these wheels plus they look great on S10's and i'm sure i'll pick up another one eventually so I figured what the hell.

Now I know that the offsets aren't ideal, but I was surprised that they fit the truck as well as they did. Of course the fronts stick out a little more than stock, but the rears are perfect! I of course mounted the wheels marked "front" on the rear of the truck, and the wheels marked "rear" on the front. I also ordered some lowering blocks and setback plates for it today too to get rid of the high rider look! The wheels aren't in the best condition and could use a refinish at some point so I may do the centers a different color then.

I was pretty surprised at the weight difference as well!! The GTA wheels were quite a bit lighter than the stock syty wheels I had on it.

Nice! I have the same set of wheels but the centers are black instead of gold. Bought them before I realized the offsets aren't correct.

For as long as these wheels have been around, I have only seen a couple trucks with them mounted up but I've never seen them in person, or from a good side angle. I figured I'd take the pics necessary to show how much they stick out which isn't much at all. Now granted these only have 225/50's mounted up so a bigger tire will make them stick out a little more but prob not too much more.

You and wheels on a Syty is like my wife with shoes.

If you are serious about keeping them I have a set of chrome Camaro 16's with tires on Craigslist. I would pull tires off. 245 50 16's , but one is a mismatch brand. Similar tread pattern though and good tread

I've always like those GTA wheels. They remind me of the BBS Style 5 wheels. Popular on BMWs (Nice E60 BTW!). I miss my E36 M345!

Just a side note: mine do not rub & you are correct, these rims are much lighter than the stock Sy/Ty rims.

The stock SyTy 16" rims are relatively heavy for a 16" rim, so it does not surprise me.

I decided to put these wheels on my truck to wear out the tires I liked the look Im going to leave mine gold and put gmc on the center cap. They were a few lbs lighter than the ty wheels They look like they belong on these trucks. Your sy looks great with them on.

What are the 16 gta wheels off of? I am think they are the Pontiac wheels but cant seem in the pics on my phone. Where can I find a set with the right offset? They look nice.

They came on Trans Ams/GTA's in the late 80's to early 90's. I used to have a set on my Formula... I think they looked great, so I found a set of 17" Epsilon mesh (corvette offset) for my bird. When I refinish them, I'll throw them on the Ty and take pictures for everyone, but that won't be for about a year...

There is a guy on TGO who has them in Chrome. I think polishing would take WAY too long. If you would like I can try to find the picture and post it for you.

I was looking for another set of these wheels for my SY in gold to match the same wheels that I have on our W-30.
