12* knock w/ no boost?

did a couple DM runs yesterday... 2 of the runs i did were while just driving around and then jumpin on the gas. right when i'd hit the gas, knock would take off to 10*+ (peaking at 12*)then once i went into boost it would taper off and peak at maybe 5* or so... i can't help but think its false knock. the truck is making some pretty bad vibes and like a rattling sound (which feels like its comin from the tranny) right at 2200 rpms, which is when the knock went up... but i think its a coincidence because knock was randomly poppin up all over my run when i was just cruising... my knock counts were also something like 21000... i'm thinkin bad sensor maybe? i'll have to do a search and see where the sensor is located so i can check it out... but has anyone else had similar probs? and what did you do to get rid of it?

sensor is behind dist. on drivers side block, the round thingy

check trans lines against pan and crossover, fuel lines, anything that could be loose or hitting, downpipe-trans mount, etc. once checked over, thow is a tank of 110 and see if it make a difference, i bet for sure its false knock, but 110 is the fo rsure way of checking if there is any engine knock, of course besides valvetrain noise and such.

If it is a rattling noise, check out the heat shield that goes over the downpipe near the floor board on the passenger side. On the last syty transmission swap that I did, the owners' had become unattached and was rattling on the downpipe. Secured it with a pop rivet to solve the problem. Also check the bolts that hold your torque converter inspection cover on. HTH's
